Chanel Rouge Allure Laque is a full-coverage lipgloss - simply put: it packs a lot of color that you can completely skip the lipstick. It has a hydrating non-sticky formula and feels silky. That being said, it still lasts for a decent amount of time and my lips don't flake at any given point. I reapply after eating or after about 3 hours of wear. Not bad at all.
The only thing I'm not a fan of is that it has a tendency to settle into lines. Not a deal breaker but I wish it didn't do that.

The tube is smaller compared to other brands but the wear time is longer so it's not unreasonable to purchase. I like bringing this around in my purse because of the size. It dispenses enough to cover your entire lip at one go (sometimes even a little bit more). The tip of the applicator is curve-shaped so that it hugs your lip while you distribute the product.
Like all my other Chanel cosmetics, this has a subtle scent which, to me, is floral. Hardly noticeable and fades after 10 minutes.
Santal looks bold when swatched on my arm but on the lip, its a peachy-pink color that's great if you're going for an overall natural look or if you need something to go with a smoky eye.
Rouge Allure Laque feels so luxurious that once you feel it on your lips, it'll make you sigh. I am a big fan of Chanel's makeup because everything I have has worked beautifully. In fact, this brand was what made me believe in the quality of high-end stuff.
What's your favorite high-end product?
P.S. Sorry for the lack of posts this month - I've been extremely busy with:
1. Work - I moved to a new department a few months back and now that I have several ongoing projects, it's quite overwhelming.
2. Makeup Classes - 1 week to go and I can call myself a pro ;)
3. The Wedding - why do things go wrong at the last minute? Anyway, it's going to happen very soon!
But I'll update this blog as much as I can. Everything should be back to normal by January, when things have settled.

That colour's not really my thing (if it comes it red I am SO THERE), but the product itself just looks SO LUSH. It's true when I think about luxury makeup, chanel is what I am usually thinking of.. :)
ReplyDelete@Omega - they have a bold red color... definitely check it out! Its shinier and so sultry! :)
ReplyDeleteAll the other reviews I have seen on this product were deep reds, I was so not interested!!! You have definitely changed my mind!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower and I love your reviews :) Just wanted to ask where you're taking Makeup classes to go pro? I've recently become interested and am looking for options. hihi Thanks!
ReplyDelete@Denise where are you located? i'm taking my classes at MUFE but MUD is pretty good too. i'd recommend both schools, depending on schedule & budget.
ReplyDelete@Stepford Witch I'm from Makati :) So far, I have MUFE, CAS and MUD on my list. MUFE is my top pick, but I don't think they have class schedules that are for weekends only :( (I work from Monday to Friday; 8-5) I'm looking to take longer and more detailed Basic Make up classes, btw. I've already taken a 9-hour makeup class from Shu Uemura. What class are you currently taking at MUFE? Thanks, I really appreciate your response!
ReplyDeletei love the color payoff and the fact that it's peachy pink! hey, goodluck on your new work(load), makeup class and of course, your wedding preps! hugs!
ReplyDelete@Denise actually among the 3 schools you mentioned, MUFE has the best sched. CAS is 3x/week and MUD is full time. MUFE has weekday and weekend options for the basic class (module 1)- best you call them to check when those are but usually, it's held saturday afternoons. i took module 5 - bridal for pros.
ReplyDelete@beautylilsecrets thanks, dear! :) alam mo na... LOL! oh when are you free to shawarma? let's coordinate w/ kari na rin.
ReplyDeleteprettyyyyyy. I want to own a Chanel lipcolor one of these days. I'm torn between picking a special shade that I'll only wear so many times (like a red) or an everyday shade. *_*
ReplyDelete@Stepford Witch The MUFE class is under Macquillage Professionnel, right? I get confused with the two. I called them recently and it looks like their classes for the remainder of the year are on weekdays. I'll try again next year :) CAS has a weekend sched for their basic makeup class, 8-5 on Saturdays. Thanks! Looking forward to your next blog post. Good luck with all your activities! :D
ReplyDelete@Kari I suggest going for an everyday color so that you get your money's worth. Their Rouge Allure line is absolutely great - it still stays after eating & is super hydrating... I posted about it here.
ReplyDelete@Denise Thank you, you are too sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteI do believe you just made my knees give out! I love my RAL in Dragon but now I think I need that nude!!!!!!
ReplyDelete@LauraJean396 It really is a lovely color! Preppyboy prefers this on me compared to any red color ;)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteJust watching this review i realised the Lip Extreme from NYX are very similar to this one,in texture and pay-off color. You should try them ;)
