The first product that caught my eye from the Summertime de Chanel 2012 collection was the Le Vernis Nail Color is Island. I also purchased Delight and I'll post that later this week.
Island is pretty sheer and I needed 3 coats to get it to look opaque. Although it looks more beautiful semi-sheer, which can be achieved with 2 coats.
Island is a metallic pinkish-beige color which is great if you want a toned-down shade to wear everyday. I think I'll wear this on formal occasions because of its classic and elegant look.
The thing I love about Chanel nail colors is that they dry quickly. The only issue I have is that on my toenails, they last up to a week without chipping but on my fingernails, its the opposite (even with a base and top coat). I think that's more of user error though. Haha!
That being said, any suggestions on how I can make my polish last longer?
This is beautiful! I got Delight from this collection... Sorry I don't really have any longevity tips lol. x
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle :) I literally said "ohhh shiny" when I saw Delight and wanted it! It's such a fun color.
DeleteThat's strange that it chipped like that even with a base and top coat. I would maybe try a different base I've found some polishes don't work well with all bases.
ReplyDeleteWhat base do you use? I'm not all that familiar with nail polish (I consider myself a beginner) so your recommendation would help :)
DeleteI've been using this Sally Hansen two in one but I find it makes my matte polishes chip like crazy but works well with shiny finish. I hear the nail bloggers swear by the one from Zoya, I haven't had a chance to pick it up yet tho.
DeleteWhat base and topcoat are you using? I used to use Elianto as base coat which yellowed my nails and made my polish the peel-off kind. I can't remember for the life of me bakit nagtiyaga ako dun. :)) Now I use Orly Top2Bottom and it's quite good.
ReplyDeleteI use Orly Tough Cookie as my base bec my nails are thin and brittle - so far its helped strengthen my nails. For top coat I usually just the Jelly one from Etude House. I'm not yet that adventurous when it comes to nail polishes :D
DeleteI have quite a few but they're not getting the love like they used to. Katamad minsan! I usually motivate myself to paint my nails when I want to wear open toed shoes. Otherwise meh. Haha :))
