Since Illusion D'Ombre came out last year, I wanted these so desperately it hurt. At that time, I was saving up for the wedding plus vacation so splurging was out of the question. That, plus the fact that I have my stingy moments.
I expected these to be limited edition which made me feel doubly bad. It never left the shelves... Wheeeeeeeee! :)
Apparently shopping is a coping mechanism for me because when Preppyboy and I were on separate continents for a month last May (business trip), I went nuts and picked up four of these.
I got a kick out of this product! It's probably a bad idea to keep making it bounce by poking my makeup brush on it... but its a fun sight. I even showed it to a friend of mine hehe!
Each pot comes with a small synthetic brush that you can carry around. The tip is about the same size as your usual lip brush except that it's angled. This way, you can use it either as an eyeliner or eyeshadow. I like how Chanel's applicators are actually usable and sturdy.
If you love smoky eyes but hate having to deal with fall out, this is definitely something you need to own. It's works like cream eyeshadow although the cushiony texture makes it feel a bit wet. Let me clarify - it feels wet but it actually isn't.
This glides on to the eyelid and blends effortlessly. I think you'll love that its easy to control the intensity of this shadow. Check out the swatch on my arm: to the left, it was applied lightly and to the right, I used a heavier hand.
Illusoire is a deep purple shade with a dark brown base and silvery pink shimmer. I usually use this with a primer as base and top it off with a very light wash of powder eyeshadow. Follwing those steps, I get a wear time of at least 10 hours.
For the look below, I decided to show you what it looks like on its own. On my lid and lower lashline, I used Illusoire without any other eyeshadow or base. The only other products on my eyes are liquid black eyeliner and mascara.
Illusion D'Ombre is one of the best eyeshadows I've had and I'm pretty sure you're going to love these too! ;)
This one is definitely my favorite out of the ones I have. :)
