Photo Shoot Series: No Makeup Look

As a makeup artist, I sometimes get lost in all the wonderful colors and textures in my kit. It's evident in most of the work included in my portfolio - the models either have a bold lip or a sparkly or dramatic eye.

A photographer/stylist friend of mine brought forth the idea of creating a "no makeup" look because a common friend (also a photographer) needed it for his portfolio. I jumped at the opportunity and the photo above was the final product.

I just wanted to quickly share with you the products I used to achieve this look. Here goes:

Prep:

Eyes:

• Viseart Natural Eyeshadow Palette (as eyeshadow & brow color)

• Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil - Corrupt
• Make Up For Ever Lip Liner Concealer (yes, on the eye)

Lips:

• Edward Bess Ultra Slick Lipstick - Night Romance
• Edward Bess Deep Shine Lip Gloss - Sweet Dream

Body:

• Benefit Bathina
• Smashbox Contour Palette

I haven't used my Edward Bess lipsticks in a while but decided to whip these out and bring them to the shoot, without a plan. These were so easy to apply and photographed beautifully that I used them two weeks later during a bridal trial.
